Springtime at Compris Vineyard means Dru gets to mow and enjoy the vineyard views with the Dundee Hills in the distance.

Dear Compris Family and Friends,

April was a wonderful month for the Compris team! With the help of some beautiful days, we were able to officially declare bud break in our vineyard on April 12th. The 2024 season is officially underway!

That same nice weather helped dry out the ground enough to enable Dru to finally hop on his brand-new tractor for the very first time to get the plentiful, green grass mowed - he's always happy to get some tractor time in. Aaron was busy getting some of our wine ready for bottling, but also took time for another important step for our vineyard health by burying cow horns under one of our oak trees. By filling these horns with a combination of natural ingredients and burying them within the ground, the mixture will ferment and become a concentrated, nutrient-rich fertilizer that we'll dig up for use in the vineyard. Ryan traveled across the country to North Carolina to share Compris and participate in the Charlotte Wine & Food Week. This event featured food, wine, and, most importantly, fundraising for children's charities. Through our April Club Share, which included some of our nearby winery friends, we had the pleasure of welcoming several new faces to the tasting room and met many fantastic folks. Our community is really quite special and we truly enjoy connecting with everyone we meet.

May brings us out and about in Central Oregon, Seattle, and several spots locally. We're also celebrating our own Compris anniversary! We'd love to see you up at the vineyard this month, too! Whether you're celebrating Mother's Day, Oregon Wine Month, or just enjoying life, we'd be honored to be a part of your day.

We appreciate your support in allowing us to live out our collective dream of growing grapes and community!

What's in a song?

This month’s music intro is a special call out to one of our wines being released for the first time, Perpetual Sound. This vibrant, food-friendly Reserve Chardonnay is perfectly paired with dinner parties and special occasions (such as Mother's Day!). Inspired by Linkin Park's "Forgotten", this wine is a testament to patience after being aged for 20 months in relatively neutral oak. We named it after the perpetual sound lyrics within the song, due to the building momentum throughout each sip followed by a satisfying, lengthy finish. Want to share this with your friends and loved ones? Come for a visit!

Join Us for Our Anniversary Celebration!

Please join us in celebrating Compris' second trip around the sun on Saturday, May 25th! We are very appreciative of our community and cannot wait to welcome our Compris friends and family, as well as friends yet-to-be, to this Memorial Weekend event. In honor of this special day, we'll be releasing a wine that we feel is perfect for celebrations - our 2023 Valley Skies Rosé of Tempranillo! The first vintage of this first Compris bottled wine was in 2021, and we're thrilled to share this brand new bottling with you as we reminisce about the past couple of years and look forward to the years ahead. Food, wine, and good vibes will be on hand! Let's kick-off this unofficial start to summer together - we hope to see you here!

Our April Cause ~ Animals

The Compris Crew has a very special place in our hearts for animals – both our own and those that need loving homes. May is National Pet Month and we are taking this opportunity to call out one of our favorite local shelters in hopes that you'll consider adding a rescued pet to your own home or giving support to your local animal shelter.

Newberg Animal Shelter Friends is a private non-profit organization that operates Newberg Animal Shelter and relies on individual donations, adoption fees, and their own fundraising to operate. Their mission is to provide a compassionate environment for homeless animals and find them nurturing homes. Animal care is the top priority for this no-kill shelter, and they spay or neuter all of their adoptable animals. In addition to improving the quality of life for these animals in need, they also provide pet food to local food banks.
Please visit, donate, or apply to volunteer to assist the shelter in their mission!

Learn more by visiting their website, Instagram, and Facebook!

For the month of May, Compris Vineyard will be donating one dollar from every bottle sold or glass pour purchased of our As One Pinot noir. Donate Now!
